Great news Or Bad News - And also the Difference Is?
Ever had somebody give you bad news? How about great news? What's the difference or do they offer a difference?
Good news - things or information that makes all of us happy, content, reassured, safe and validated.
Bad news -- the opposite.
So , it would appear that there exists a difference between good and bad information - read on.
Have you ever received bad news but in the end points turned out well or much better than you anticipated? Have you ever obtained good news and over time whatever you thought was good news became not so good?
From personal experience Let me tell you that I have experienced all -
Good news that was great.
Bad news that was bad.
Very good news that I thought was very good but ended up being bad.
Not so good news that I thought was poor and ended up being good.
Baffled yet? Well I know which over time I was often uncertain of the difference between these two obvious opposite messages. But then We learned that sometimes bad news with one group of people can be perceived as good news on the table and that good news to one individual over time can be perceived as negative.
Confused? Let me explain.
Ultimately it's just news and makes it bad or good or even natural is not the news itself however how we perceive it, determine it, evaluate it or even react because of it.
Just how can someone perceive bad news of the same quality you might ask? Or the opposing, how could someone perceive very good news as bad?
In short - each of us features a unique history, experiences, values and values and as a result non-e of us ever see the same thing or perhaps circumstance in the same way.
Someone who is really a worrier, negative, pessimistic or maybe impatient might see a hold off as bad when someone else who understands the concept of you will find things we can control as well as things we can't manage so why get all annoyed about something you can't handle or if you can control this get busy.
In the end anything that happens - just occurs and what we do is actually interpret it all based on our own expectations, goals, needs as well as mindsets and all of these are distinctive for each of us.
Let me provide you with a couple of personal examples. And when you will consider the explanation while you may not have had exactly the same conditions, if you will think about it Soon we will be you can relate.
Prior to gazing my speaking and coaching career I was a nationwide sales manager for an worldwide organization. Long story however the short side is I had formed an issue with my manager, the president and as a result this individual fired me. Bad news, correct? Well that was all Required to decide it was time to find a career that has lasted more than 40 years and has allowed me personally to see the world (25 nations to date) and use some tremendous clients as well as audiences. So in the end this particular bad news was really good news.
This another quick one.
Years back I proposed to my spouse and she said indeed. Good news right? (No decision taking here please). Well over period after doing my with regard to more than fifteen years Choice that it was time to end that and why? Well, with no gruesome details, the relationship had been gradually eroding my confidence, confidence and optimistic mentality and I decided that I did not like who I was getting in that relationship. We parted, amicably - but all of us parted. Good news as I been able - over time - in order to regain all I had dropped - emotionally and spiritually.
We all have our tales and we all can create listings of good news and not so good news we have received but in the finish it's all just media.
During some of my business programs I share this specific simple concept - quit asking your employees permanently news or bad news : just ask them for the reports and then you decide which it really is. Because their definition might be completely different than yours.
As well as vice versa - as an professional or manager don't transmit - I have some good or even bad news - just inform your employees you've got some announcement and let each of them interpret this they see fit based on their own personal viewpoints, attitudes, mindsets, experience, expectations and how it may impact them personally.
